Looking at the layout of the photo regarding the HKS SQV Blow off valve, I have to say that's a "No No" way to install a blow off valve on a 1.8T. Very inefficient, and could cause problem.
Blow off valve on a 1.8T engine should always be "return to circuit" seting, instead of blow into atmosphere setting (such as HKS SQV). The air flow mass sensor would not pick up right air flow and the ECU will calculate wrong air-fuel mixture. And, the engine in the Blow to Atmophere setting will sometimes be stall. If some one really want to install the HKS SQV on a VAG's 1.8T, additional modification is needed. But, it's not easy to tune to a ideal condition. I would not suggest to do as the link suggested.
What a un-informed information posted here, very irresponsible.
That is nothing to do with which car you drive. Day in day out over here, I can see what is the different between the driver of different type of car.
I am driving Subaru Legacy GT-B, Station wagon, mainly stock condition, except increased boost pressure to 1.2 kg/sq. cm. and inter cooler. approx. 340 bhp at wheel. It will cane Porsch, BMW, Mercedez big time on the straight line or winding road on a race. But, that's no big deal. Guys, the most important thing is enjoy your own ride. Don't look dwon others.
