BMW is preparing a raft of new technology that will enable its future models to react "intelligently" with local road conditions to allow greater fuel-efficiency and improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
This new philosophy is described by BMW as "Connected Drive meets Efficient Dynamics." The German car manufacturer expects to roll out the technology over the next few years in the new 2013 BMW 3 Series and 2012 6 Series.
Subaru’s own advanced driving-assist EyeSight system is installed along the front edge of the roof. The images the camera takes can be viewed on a monitor in the center of the gauge cluster, positioned for easy visibility. EyeSight is also networked with the latest in collision-prevention technology, underscoring the safety that customers expect from Subaru.
The combination of the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated Boxer engine with a Lineartronic™ Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) represents Subaru’s next-generation powertrain.
Ahead of its planned debut at the LA Auto Show next week, Mitsubishi has released photos and details of it’s U.S.-spec i-MiEV electric car. Normally there’s little differentiation between a U.S.-spec model and one from the brand’s domestic market, but in this case the tiny i-MiEV has been widened to meet the needs of U.S. customers.
The car itself is 285mm (11.2-in.) longer at 3,680mm, it’s wider by 110mm (4.3-in.) at 1,585mm and also higher by 5mm for a total of 1,615mm. The front and rear track are also a total of 110mm (4.3-in.) wider. To a give a sense of perspective that’s roughly three feet longer than a Smart fortwo and about a foot shorter than the Honda Fit.
The U.S.-Spec i-Miev is expected to get the same battery pack and electric motor with a total of 63-hp and 133 ft-lbs of torque.

Mitsubishi Motors’ North American Version of i-MiEV to Make World Premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show
Tokyo, November 9, 2010 – Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will host the world premiere of the North American version of its i-MiEV new-generation electric vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS) held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from Wednesday, November 17 to Sunday November 28 (open to the general public from Friday, November 19). In addition, the Outlander Sport compact CUV (RVR in Japan, ASX in Europe), which is to go on sale in the North American market from the end of this year as well as other core vehicles for the North American market are planned for display at the LAAS.
The North American version of the i-MiEV, in comparison to the Japanese- and European-spec i-MiEVs, features an enhanced, enlarged body structure to secure plenty of space for four adults and better meet the expectations of U.S. consumers. In addition, the North American-spec i-MiEV’s front and rear bumpers are all-new. Airbags that detect passengers and control deployment force, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Active Stability Control (ASC) are all standard equipment.
Also, with the Outlander Sport’s mating of a 2.0-liter MIVEC*1 engine to an INVECS*2Ⅲ-CVT Sportronic (six-speed sport-mode CVT) transmission (five-speed manual transmission also available on some trim levels), the Outlander Sport provides superior fuel efficiency and low emissions in a compact CUV package that can seat five.

Romanian designer Andrus Ciprian reasserted itself. After the release of several conceptual projects "not of this world, which includes Hummer HB, Mazda RX-Z and Dacia MC, the designer introduced the concept of sports supercar Honda Pegasus.
It seems that the very design of Honda Pegasus inspired by aircraft and partly resembles the development of the middle of this century, such as the Pontiac Firebird II, with the front and rear wings, and fantastic rear spoiler. So it posted on the concept of Honda Pegasus all these elements have been created to give the project a truly unique aerodynamics.
Spy shots of the upcoming 9th generation 2012 Honda Civic test mules are doing their rounds in the internet. The Civic has been the most important car for Honda since 1972, when the first generation Civic hit the streets.
Here are some renderings of the 9th gen European 2012 Civic hatchback. The 2012 Civic could be launched before the end of 2011.
Takanobu Ito, Honda CEO -
We are taking more time to rethink the new Civic and all our models. We had to revisit our development work and planning to comply with the change in the environment. The team is struggling.
The 8th generation Honda Civic which was introduced in 2006 was a radical departure from the typical mid-size sedan and was touted to be best Civic ever but the car aged faster than usual. Now Honda has a big task cut out to replace the 8th gen model.
The 2012 Honda Civic should look better than the present model, not necessarily different, and might feature new engines. The 1.3-liter i-VTEC hybrid engine currently doing its duty in the Civic Hybrid is likely to be carried over.
The 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired to Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist powertrain used in the Honda CR-Z Hybrid is another viable option. The interiors of the car would look futuristic and could borrow a lot of design cues from the CR-Z.
The 2012 Suzuki Swift was launched yesterday and going by the official images, the car’s design wasn’t very different compared to the outgoing model. Despite having many mechanical changes and upgrades, the looks have evolved only marginally. I’m sure Suzuki isn’t the only company that’ll leave a majestic, futuristic and accepted design largely untouched. Honda, in all likelihood, should follow the same path with this new Civic.
